About

Scottish Open Race Training (SORT) was established as a means to increase participation in competitive Laser sailing and to bring organised coaching to sailors throughout Scotland, at any level. It is a non-profit organisation run by volunteers.

Training days are held regularly throughout Scotland and are designed to enhance boat handling, boat speed, tactics, starting ability and on the water confidence.

As the programme is designed to further race skills, the individual sailor should have sufficient boat handling in reasonable sailing conditions (RYA level 2 as a minimum) and preferably have some racing experience. For further details, see the criteria here.
